SHC removed KU Vice Chancellor and ordered new appointments
Professor Dr Khalid Iraqi, the interim Vice-Chancellor of Karachi University (KU), has been compelled to resign by the Sindh High Court (SHC), and the university has been instructed to give names for new appointments.
The court also overturned all decisions made by the vice-chancellor of Karachi University after January 26, 2022. Despite clear court instructions, Dr. Khalid Iraqi continued to make choices, according to the petitioner who filed the contempt charge.

The SHC ordered the university to give the names of ten senior teachers to Sindh's chief minister, who would subsequently nominate the most senior professor among them to the position. The Sindh High Court was also ordered to constitute a search committee for the KU vice-chancellor's appointment.
