Schools in Islamabad to promote students without exam
The students from Prep to Grade 7 in schools in Islamabad will be promoted without examination to the next grade this year.
According to a notification issued by the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), the students will be assessed on four tests each of 25 marks to make a total of 100 marks. The records will be maintained in the schools’ records to be examined by the teachers and heads.

The FDE has made the announcement under a special policy titled ‘Promotion Policy for Class I to VIII for Academic Session 2020-21’.
However, there will be in person exams for grade 7 conducted by the concerned teachers of the schools in accordance with the centralized date sheet. The minimum passing percentage for each subject has been set to 35 percent for the current academic year only.
The results of grade VIII will be announced on either 30 or 31 July while the summer vacations will be from 18 July to 1 August.
