Punjab Govt. orders to shut down colleges in 25 districts
The government of Punjab has ordered to shutdown colleges in 25 districts of Punjab amid sharp spike in coronavirus cases in the region.
According to a notification issued by the Punjab government, the districts with more than five per cent of positivity rate were ordered to shutdown with an immediate effect whereas, the decision to allow intermediate colleges to continue educational activities was also reverted.
According to the notification, the colleges will remain closed in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Toba Tek Singh Rahim Yar Kahan, DG Khan, Bahawalpur, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Sialkot, Sargodha, Multan, Okara, Jhang, Khanewal, Kasure, Bahawalnagar, Chakwal, bhakkar, Faizabad, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Khushaab, Lodhran, Mandi Bahauddin, and Pak Pattan.
The notification has further instructed the colleges to halt educational activities until further notice by the Higher education commission.
