Punjab Govt announces reopening of schools and universities from February 1
All schools and universities will be reopened on February 1, the Punjab government announces on Friday, as per an earlier decision taken by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).
Punjab education minister Dr. Murad Raas shared the notification on Twitter that describes all the information and necessary operating procedures to be followed regarding educational institutes' opening.

Students from all educational institutions can attend classes on alternative days, according to the announcement. For each day, the student ratio must stay at 50 percent.
The provincial department also stated that SSC and HSSC students' examinations would be held in May and June.
"Public schools will continue to follow the Accelerated Learning Model (ALP) disclosed earlier. Assessment standards and test schedules for grades 5 and 8 shall be documented to the Punjab Examination Commission separately," read the notification.

The department nudged all schools to "implement strict SOPs" told over time by the Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department and School Education Department, Punjab.
"School timing in the winter season will be observed in line with prior experience," added the notification.
