Punjab reopens medical colleges across the province
The government of Punjab has announced that all medical schools and colleges will reopen the province under strict Covid-19 compliance from tomorrow (Thursday).
In a statement by the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department (SHMED), all public and private medical and dental colleges and nursing schools will reopen in the province from May 27 and resume the educational activities.

According to the decision, on-campus classes will resume for third, fourth, and final year MBBS students and third and fourth-year BDS students. Whereas, second-year MBBS and BDS students will continue to take online classes.
The government directed the heads of institutions of all public and private colleges to ensure the strict compliance of COVID-19 vaccination of all students and teachers as well as non-teaching staff members.
Meanwhile, the ban on extra-curricular sports will remain in place until further orders.

It is pertinent to note that all medical schools and colleges in Punjab were closed down in March this year due to a spike in COVID-19 cases in the province.
