PM States Special Packages to be given to Students in Flood Affected Areas
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered the preparation of a package containing special incentives for the students of flood-affected areas in Pakistan.
According to Express News, the Prime Minister stated that the fee waiver for students, and the issuing of special scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students will be included in the package, which the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Commission has met for the implementation procedure. Work on this implementation has started.
An education package is being prepared on the direction of the Prime Minister under which students from all flood-affected areas will be given various incentives, including deferment of collection of the university fees.
On the other hand, in a meeting held under the chairmanship of the Federal Minister for Education, Rana Tanveer Hussain, apart from the chairman of the Higher Education Commission, high officials of the Ministry of Education, heads of relevant institutions and vice chancellors of universities participated in the meeting. It was also agreed to establish temporary (transitional) schools in areas which were affected by the calamity.
