PEC requests to postpone the implementation of HEC undergraduate policy
Pakistan Engineering Council has asked all higher education institutions to delay the implementation of HEC undergraduate policy 2020.
PEC's governing council voted to retain the organization's current policies and standards at its 40th meeting.

PEC has issued a letter to all universities in this context, stating that it has adopted an international standard based on the Washington Accord's rules, while the HEC's current approach only applies to general education.
PEC has also adopted the OBE System, which consists of a four-year interconnected program covering all general education requirements, including internships and FYDP, by the Washington Accord guidelines.
Meanwhile, HEC has officially agreed to meet with PEC to reach a joint agreement on the policy's engineering programs.

HEC previously announced Undergraduate Policy 2020, which aims to safeguard students' access to better education and the affordability of higher education degrees both domestically and globally.
