Parents should send their kids to school on January 18, requests Raas
The Education Minister Punjab Murad Raas said on Tuesday that parents should send their children to schools as they have suffered adequate academic loss due to Covid-19 outbreak and lockdown.
While speaking at a local TV channel, Raas said that the whole year of 2020, the students have stayed at home and that is why it is important to send them back to schools “We will follow the same pursuit as before, that is if 50 percent of students come on Monday then rest would come on Tuesday,” he said.

The minister added the schools were implementing the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) which are not being practiced anywhere else with the same effect. “I request parents to not send their children without mask, and if the child is sick, has cough, flu or fever, then the child must not be sent to school,” he requested the parents. “We will make sure that all SOP guidelines are followed in schools,” he assured.
The minister emphasized on the need of mutual efforts, “We want the government, private institutes, and parents to work this out together, otherwise we would not achieve success,” he said.
According to Raas, the regular exams for grade 1 to 8 will be commenced in May while the board exams will be held around May and June. “This year, the students would get short summer vacation to cover the academic loss that was caused last year,” he informed.
