Pakistan and Uzbekistan agree to enhance education and skills cooperation

A comprehensive agreement between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, which focuses on education and vocational training, was signed onTuesday.

Rana Tanveer Hussain, the Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training, and Aybek Arif Usmanov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, reached an agreement during a called-on meeting here.

The meeting was also attended by senior ministry officials.

Rana Tanveer welcomed the Uzbek delegation and said the two countries have always had friendly and cordial relations.

During the meeting, Rana Tanveer Hussain welcomed the exchange of students in order to further mutual cooperation, especially in the area of skilled vocational training.

There is a great deal of potential for cooperation between the two countries, according to him.

In an invitation to the World Conference on Early Childhood Care and Education, the ambassador invited Rana Tanveer to attend.

In Tashkent, Uzbekistan, the Second World Conference on Early Childhood Care and Education (WCECCE) will be co-organized with UNESCO from November 14th to the 16th.

According to him, the World Conference on Early Childhood Care and Education (WCECCE) was an UNESCO intergovernmental conference (Category II) that reaffirmed every young child's right to quality care and education from birth to age 8, and urged Member States to invest in Goal 4 of Sustainable Development.

Rana Tanveer said that a Joint Working Group (JWG) should be established to streamline and execute cooperation between the two countries on a priority basis, in order to ensure "all girls and boys have access to quality early childhood development, care and pre-primary education."

In his remarks, the minister stated that Pakistan places high importance on its relations with Uzbekistan and desires the further strengthening of these relations in all fields of mutual benefit.
