Online exams to be taken at varsity, UOH tells protesting students

The students of the University of Haripur on Monday protested against physical examinations to be held by the varsity administration.

The protesting students from the university’s various departments demanded online examinations by holding placards at the university gate.

The students called for the online examination in the same manner the university had arranged the online lectures amid coronavirus pandemic, they stressed that physical examination is unfair when the whole idea of online lectures throughout the semester was to protect students.

At the protest, Deputy Superintendent of Police Headquarters, Amjad Hussain, mediated the university administration and students while the heads of different departments of the university were also present at the scene.

According to reports, the university has agreed on providing both online and physical examination options to the students. However, they said that internet facility provision will not be provided or facilitated by the University for those wishing to take online examination. University also said that online exam would be held on the premises of the varsity and not at home. The protesting students ended the protest and resumed their activities after negotiations.
