New restrictions for Sindh schools issued by NCOC

As per the directions of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), the Sindh government announced new limitations in schools on Thursday.

States Sindh Education Department notifies that vaccination is mandatory for students aged 12 years and above.

The notification issued by School Education and Literacy Department of the Sindh government stated, "In accordance with the decision of the NCOC meeting held on January 19, 2022, and with the approval of Competent Authority, the following decisions have been made for strict compliance throughout the province in all public, private, and allied institutions of Sindh under the administration of this department."

New restrictions for Sindh schools are:

Classes for students under the age of 12 will continue to be held with strict COVID guidelines and a 50% attendance requirement on staggered days.

Classes for pupils over the age of 12 will continue to be held with strict COVID guidelines (complete vaccination) and 100% attendance.

Beginning February 1, 2022, vaccination of students over the age of 12 will be required (at least one dosage). There will be no exceptions made unless for medical reasons.

Educational institutions will be subjected to aggressive sentinel testing in order to close those with high disease prevalence.
