Matriculation and Inter exams in Sindh will start from 8th & 22nd May
The matriculation and inter annual examinations for the year 2023 will start across the country including Sindh on May 8th and 22nd respectively. The examination pattern has also been changed.
The revised pattern reduces MCQs from 40% to 20% in ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades. MCQs had a 40% share in previous matric and inter exams. Now according to the new decision, short answers and detailed answers have a 40%/40% share in the rest of the paper.
Under the chairmanship of Secretary School Education Sindh Ghulam Akbar Laghari, a subcommittee meeting of the steering committee took this decision. As part of the meeting, the Secretary of Colleges, Ahmed Bakhsh Narejo, along with the Chairman Boards, Acting Director Private Institutions Sindh Professor Afzal Ahmed, and Head of the Private Schools Association Tariq Shah also participated.
As a result of the meeting, Tariq Shah told "Express News" that the previous proposal to begin the matriculation exams on April 28th immediately following Eid-ul-Fitr was rejected due to Ramadan being the time period for the sixth to eighth grades. Despite the decision not to take the exams, the matric exams will begin on May 8th in the whole province. The inter exams will start on May 23rd.
In the meeting, it was also decided to start the next academic year of 2023 from August 1st. Furthermore, the winter vacation for this year 2022 will be from December 22nd to December 31st.
