International IT company proposes a Tech city in KP

An American IT company showed profound interest for extensive investment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including the target of setting up a Technology City in the province, said sources on Thursday.

The offer was extended in a meeting of Afiniti CEO Zia Chishti with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan. During the meeting KP Finance Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra and KP Local Government Minister Akbar Ayub Khan along with Special Assistant Kamran Bangash, Additional Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir and other relevant officials were present.

The anticipated tech city would have the preliminary ability to house between 10,000 and 15,000 IT-related personnel while more than 50,000 job opportunities for youngsters will be created, the meeting was briefed.

In the meeting, it was decided that the provincial government and Afiniti would collaborate to find a appropriate site for the founding of the anticipated tech city project.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Khan said the provincial government aims to take result-oriented steps under a well-devised strategy to provide maximum job opportunities to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by attracting private investment.
