The students were unable to complete their last two semesters due to COVID 19, and it has affected their educational activities as they cannot meet their work according to the academic calendar. Now, M.Phil and Ph.D. scholars are allowed to resume their study after the gradual opening of the institutes. The M.Phil / MS scholars of the academic year 2018-2020 can now take another year to finish their research work, in compliance with the HEC guidelines to be given to them.

According to the reports, by extending the degree program's duration, all public and private universities can encourage their M.Phil / MS scholars to submit their thesis until next year. Candidates are also notified that this decision will apply for the current year only to those students who are expected to complete their final project work by the autumn of 2020. No extension of the M.Phil / MS program, as per the HEC officials' instructions, will be given from the next academic year.
