HEC demands increase in education budget
The Higher Education Commission on Monday demanded an increased provision in the federal budget amidst the monetary crunch.
Speaking at the session chaired by Mian Najeebuddin Awaisi of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Education, HEC officials complained that the institution does not receive the full amount assigned in the budget.

The session was attended by the lawmakers Andleeb Abbas, Wajiha Akram, and others.
Urging the government to revise the budget, HEC officials stated that universities recurrently asked for the grants, "Where will we bring the money for the grants?" officials maintained.
The commission also urged the standing committee to demand an increase in the budget from the federal government.

The committee briefed about online classes; the HEC officials said 113,614 out of 118,331 courses are now taught online.
