Federal Gov to create Programs for differently-abled individuals in schools
ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Human Rights has decided to start training programs in public and private schools in Islamabad to increase inclusion of differently-abled individuals.
On Tuesday, Ministry of Human Rights official informed that a decision had been made to boost the capacity building of differently abled youngsters.
According to the specifics, the ministry and the Directorate General of Special Education, in partnership with the Private Education Institutions Registration Authority(Peira), signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) and Peira, according to the source, will identify mild to moderately differently-abled persons in the federal capital. These schools' principals and instructors will get training in inclusive education. For this objective, consultative workshops and seminars will be organized.
He stated that Islamabad has roughly 35,000 students with impairments, and that they must be given equal opportunity in both public and private schools.

The program's goal is to integrate differently-abled children into mainstream education and work, he said, adding that it's critical for them to get an education in regular schools so they may flourish in society.
Almost 5,000 differently abled children will be enrolled in schools, and 250 ordinary school instructors in Islamabad will receive training. A total of 10,000 parents would receive counselling and advice.
