70% seminary students in Peshawar vaccinated
More than 14,022 local government employees also inoculated in K-P
PESHAWAR: The district administration of Peshawar has completed vaccination of around 70 per cent clerics and students in the religious seminaries in the district.
Talking to The Express Tribune an official said that all the clerics and administration of these seminaries were completely cooperating with the district administration and the process was going on smoothly.
On the other hand around 14,022 employees of the Local Government have also been vaccinated successfully in the province. There are a total of 28,000 employees. An official said the government had made vaccination mandatory for all its employees and after that the Local Government has also started the vaccination process which is going on quite smoothly.

“Nearly half of the employees have been vaccinated and the rest of them will also be vaccinated soon,” he said.
“We have set a target of July 7 in this regard to complete the process,” he said.
“Around 4,855 employees of Local Council Boards and Town Municipalities, 4,416 staff of WSSP, 3,794 staffers of the Directorate General of Local Government, 410 employees of Local Areas Authorities, 325 employees of Peshawar Development Authority, 130 of Local Government Secretariat and 89 other staffers have been vaccinated so far,” informed the official, saying that the IT section of the Local Government has made an online dash board on emergency basis to collect the data of the employees.
“The updates of the Covid-19 vaccination are being monitored by the high ups and on our website all the information about the vaccination could also be checked,” he said, adding that all this information is open to general public and easily be accessed.

“The software has especially been updated in this regard,” he said.
The official said that all the government employees are especially vulnerable to the pandemic and due to this government had made it compulsory for its employees to be vaccinated as soon as possible for their own safety.
