Teachers in Punjab are required to check exams online now
Starting on April 26, the Punjab Education Department has stated that the examination papers for grades 4, 5 and 8 will be checked online.
This Monday, the Punjab Examination Commission issued a notice in this regard. The commission will begin checking examination papers via mobile phones, laptops, tablets and other online modes on April 26.
The teachers will be compensated via bank transfer, and the results of the classes will be announced online as well, according to the notification.
The Punjab Education Department banned the use of study materials from private publishers in all public schools in the province earlier this month.
The department took notice of the essential books and guides being used in schools to instruct students and issued a warning to teachers who were caught using guides and aiding books for teaching.
Teachers were instructed by the department to only utilise free books approved by the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB) and to avoid using private guides and helping books.
