Shahram Khan Tarakai: KPK’s Enrollment Drive is Successful

According to Khyber Pukhtunkhwa's Minister of Elementary and Secondary Education, Shahram Khan Tarakai, 7,98,333 boys and girls have enrolled in the ongoing enrollment campaign. As a result of flood conditions in various districts of the province, the enrollment campaign was extended until September 10.

The enrolment campaign started on 1 Aug that ended successfully on 10 Sep. In total, including the merged tribal areas, 798333 Boys and girls got admission to govt schools, of which 109,000 students were from private schools. This has been an outstanding achievement.

On 10th September, the enrollment campaign was successfully concluded. A total of 7,98,333 boys and girls, including those merged tribal areas, were admitted to government schools, of which 109,000 students attended private schools, according to the provincial minister. In order to increase literacy rates and enroll dropouts, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education department has launched an admission campaign under the ‘Parhega to Barega Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’ campaign in all schools.

In a conversation with APP, Mr. Tarakai said, "All children working in the first shift should be able to attend first shift schools and study as well."

According to him, the entire admission campaign system will be digitized this year for which the Education Department has developed an app and all child data will be available online.

A complete list of new students promoted to middle, high, and higher secondary levels will be recorded.

This year, the minister of education said that a target of enrolling one million children has been set. Admission campaigns will be conducted in every district, village council, and circle. School heads, council members, scouts, senior students, parents, teachers, and local elders will conduct the door-to-door admission campaign.

As far as educational facilities are concerned, Shahram Khan Tarakai said that the schools would have free textbooks, excellent facilities, and competent teachers. He continued to say that the government had fulfilled its responsibilities. By enrolling their children in school, the people can fulfill their responsibility.
