Safety of students is a huge responsibility, says Shafqat Mahmood
The Federal and Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood sent a welcome message to students and wished them good health and prosperity as all educational institutes across the country reopened on Tuesday (today) after a long halt of six months due to COVID-19 crises.
"I welcome students upon returning to their educational institutions," said Mahmood in a message sent via a Twitter account.
The Minister said that to make sure students' health and safety is a huge responsibility on each one of us. "I hope that teachers and parents and especially the students will make sure that they follow and implement the SOPs guidelines to prevent the spread of Coronavirus," Mahmood said.
The educational institutes in Pakistan closed down after a surge in the Coronavirus pandemic in March 2020. After much thought and directives from the health department, the government had announced to reopen schools on September 15 today as the virus curve started flattening since August.
