Punjab: The Government Announces Scholarships for Minorities

The Punjab government has announced a grant program for thousands of non-Muslim students across the province, with the goal of assisting minority students financially.

Students enrolled in Ph.D. and M.Phil. courses will receive a stipend of Rs50,000, while those enrolled in MS and MSc programs will receive a grant of Rs35,000.

Students currently enrolled in BS and BSc will receive a stipend of Rs30,000, while those doing intermediate and matriculation will receive Rs20,000 and Rs15,000, respectively.

It should be noted that non-Muslim students who passed their final examination with a score of 50% or higher are eligible for stipends. Their family's combined income, however, must be less than Rs35,000.

Non-Muslim students in Punjab may apply to the Department of Human and Minorities Affairs before or on September 29th, 2022. No applications will be accepted after the deadline.

The Sindh provincial government recently distributed Rs28.125 million in scholarships to 2,875 minority students across the province and proposed doubling the amount allocated for scholarships.
