Pakistani students emerged victorious in the international information technology competition held in China. A total of 150,000 students from 2,000 universities from 85 countries participated. Ahmed Bilal Masood, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Pakistan said that the success of Pakistani students studying in dilapidated schools in Huawei's global competition shows that there is no substitute for dedication and hard work.
According to media reports, Ahmed Bilal Masood was addressing the ceremony held in honor of Satish Kumar, Bhagchand Meghwar and Iqra Fatima, winners of the Sixth Wave ICT Competition (for the year 2021-22).
The above-mentioned Pakistani students were able to defeat the competitors from different parts of the world in the finals of this international competition held in Shenzhen, China.
Participants were told that Satish Kumar belongs to a remote village in Tharparkar which is not even visible on the map while Bhagchand Meghwar belongs to a village in the Dadu district of Sindh province.
Ahmed Bilal Masood said, "This proves that no one in Pakistan can now say that they don't have the resources or internet at home or adequate support to make a name for themselves."
Iqra Fatima hails from Bahawalpur and studied at Bahawalpur University while the other two students studied at Mehran University Jamshoro, respectively.
The competition is held annually by Huawei and is initiated at the local level to encourage students and recent graduates to excel in the field of Information Technology (IT).
