KP government bans assemblies and breaks in schools
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decreased school hours to minimize the risk and exposure to coronavirus in children. The provincial government has canceled the morning assembly and lunch break at all educational institutions to save time.
Educational activities will proceed from 8:10 am to 1:30 pm in middle and higher secondary schools, as per the revised time table, while primary classes will run from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Only five periods will be conducted every day.

Also, the provincial government has imposed a ban on students in schools inviting VIP guests. A letter has been sent out to the heads of both public and private schools in this regard.
“Students come to schools to gain education, and educating them must be given the primary concern. Students should not be allowed in the future to welcome visitors.”

On September 15, the KP government declared that they are conducting random samples from schools. Since then, 22,222 samples from teachers, students, and staff have been reported, out of which 17,090 outcomes were negative. With a positivity ratio of 1.25 percent, 225 students and teachers have tested positive, although 4,096 results are still awaited.
