KP also announces summer break for students
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Primary and Secondary Education Department has released the summer break schedule for schools and colleges.
According to the official notification, all the schools and universities in the district will be closed from June 1 to August 14. On August 15, educational institutes will reopen.
However, from July 1 to July 31, all schools and universities in districts that do not face severe heat and are relatively cooler, will be closed. Academic activities in these districts' educational institutes will resume on August 1.
Due to the current heat wave in the province of KP, students and parents have been requesting that the provincial government should announce early summer breaks. The authorities, however, ignored their petitions and announced the summer vacations as planned.
Due to the high heat in the province, the Baluchistan Education Department had also announced early summer breaks in public and private schools and universities on Monday.
Due to a severe heatwave, the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) ordered early summer holidays in all public and private schools operating in the Islamabad area a day later.
