Ivy League Universities Offering Free Online Courses amid COVID outbreak
The Ivy League Universities, including Brown, Harvard, Cornell, Princeton, Dartmouth, Yale, Columbia, and Pennsylvania University have announced 500 free courses that fall into the following categories: Computer science, data science, programming, humanities, business, art & design, science, social sciences, health & medicine, engineering, mathematics, education & teaching and personal development.
The world health organization (WHO) declared that the outbreak of coronavirus is a Pandemic, many education bodies and online schools, such as Coursera, edX have been asked by the institutions to expand their course options to help the students across the globe.
According to Leah Belsky, chief enterprise officer at Coursera, the majority of institutions in the world do not have the digital infrastructure to suddenly shift and have people learn online.
According to reports, the institutions and students will be able to use the platform through the end of July. Extensions will be given depending on the situation.
