HEC Stops Admissions at Isra University over Scandal
Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission has currently halted admissions to Isra University over an undisclosed scandal.
Isra University admissions have been immediately suspended for the fall semester of 2022 due to a recent alert from the HEC. This decision applies to all admissions, including those to medical colleges, in Hyderabad as well as Karachi and Islamabad until the ongoing crisis is resolved.
In order to prevent thousands of students from wasting their valuable financial resources, the HEC has taken this decision.
From fall 2022, HEC will not recognize the degrees of students enrolling in any of the university's programs, including MBBS and BDS.
The University's admissions have been halted, but it has not been declared illegal, so admissions may resume after some time when the university meets HEC's requirements. In order to apply for admission to the university, students must wait for HEC's announcements.
Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), said earlier that the political leadership needed to cooperate in ensuring quality and implementing effective policies.
