Hazara University announces new dress code for students and staff members
Hazara University has released a comprehensive dress code for all students, which disallow girls from wearing "heavy makeup and jewelry" and boys from sporting a ponytail, a university notification.
Following the implementation of the current guidelines, female students are specifically not permitted to:
- Wear jeans, Tights, and Tshirts
- Wear short shirts with jeans or tights
- Wear heavy makeup or jewelry
- Carry heavy handbags
They are allowed to wear Shalwar Kameez, Abaya, and a Headscarf.
For male students, restrictions extend to:
- Shorts, cutoff jeans, Skin-fitted jeans
- Slippers
- Earrings, Wrist chains
- Long hair, ponytails, "unattractive beard cut."
They are allowed to wear:
- Dress pants with dress shirts
- Dress shoes and socks
- Shalwar Kameez
The notice also contains instructions that staff members must meet.
