Govt supports AIOU to promote distance learning
Minister for Federal Education Shafqat Mehmood said that the government is supporting Allama Iqbal Open University to help promote remote learning in order to overcome the academic loss during the lockdown period.
“We are working with the AIOU that is the part of the Ministry to develop contents’ delivery for distance learning”, he said on a show at a private TV channel.
In the show, he talked about the importance of remote learning, especially during the time when country is going through educational crises. He was of the view that number of distance learning methods can be developed to fill the educational gap caused by coronavirus pandemic. “Remote learning is the best option during the lockdown situation”, he added.
