Case registered against 5, including a PTI member, for allegedly threatening a student
A case has been registered against 5 people, including a PTI member Omar Tanveer Butt and his brother Umair Butt, for allegedly harassing and threatening a university student.
According to Express News, a case was registered against the PTI member for threatening to assault a university student at Naseerabad police station.
The father of Irtiza Gohar Qureshi (victim student) while filing the case said that his son studies at University of Lahore and resides there. On the night of May 29, 4 people knocked on the door of the house and asked to send Gohar Qureshi outside stating that they have come to teach him a lesson for posting on social media against Omar Tanveer Butt.
It was written in the FIR that his other son and a neighbor also came outside when they heard the noises. They threatened them by saying that they had come to abduct Gohar Qureshi but it was pure luck that he was not at home.
The victim's father said that all of them threatened him and fled. The plaintiff further said that after the accused left, he called his son andwas told that his son had also received a call. It was registered that, Umair Butt, brother of Umair Tanveer Butt who came to his house with 4 armed men wanted to harm his son.
The complainant stated that the accused came home on the behalf of Omar Tanveer Butt and threatened about serious consequences, after which the police registered a case and started investigation.
