Abdul Wali Khan University Rises in International Rankings
In the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2023, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) ranked first among Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) universities. Currently, it is ranked in the 601-800 range and is the fourth-highest-ranked Pakistani university.
The ranking includes 1,799 universities from 104 countries, including 29 Pakistani universities.
A university's performance is measured using 13 performance metrics in four categories: teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook.
In the citation category, AWKUM improved 80 ranks from 268 to 180 over last year, improving in 'Research' and 'International Outlook' as well.
As a result of their tireless efforts, the university's faculty conducted high-quality research.
In addition to the 29 universities that were included in the ranking, THE awarded 24 Pakistani universities the ‘Reporter’ status, meaning that they provided data for assessment but did not meet THE's eligibility criteria for inclusion in 2023.
