23 students caught cheating in exam
Some twenty-three students were caught while cheating in exams by the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) examiner teams Thursday.
The argument followed when, on the first day of the SSC Part-I exams, the mathematics question paper was apparently leaked on social media and later broadly disseminated on WhatsApp groups.
According to reports, Science group students were appearing for the maths paper in the morning shift. As soon as the exam started the question paper was shared widely on social media. Board officials, however, have denied any such reports.

In the afternoon shift, the general group’s regular and private students appeared for their civics, physiology & hygiene, history, food & nutrition, and computer studies papers. However, no reports of leaked questions occurred.
According to a press release issued by the board, all the papers started and concluded on time. BSEK Chairman Prof Syed Sharaf Ali Shah invigilated various exam centers and did not find any issues in the implementation and management of exams. He said that the cheating culture must be eliminated from the examination system.
While visiting the centers, he also examined the CCTV camera monitoring room of the exam centers and commended the preparations made there. He directed the superintendents, students, and staff members to follow the COVID-19 standard operating procedures, and stressed wearing masks.
