Toppr, An EdTech Startup, has partnered with NDMC to educate underprivileged students
The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has collaborated with ed-tech startup Toppr to educate underprivileged students through its flagship programme Asha.
Through the Toppr learning app, Toppr Asha looks to improve the academic performance of students from low-income and underserved families. In conjunction with the Bharat EdTech Initiative, Asha will provide access to its learning modules to around 12,500 impoverished kids in grades 6 to 12.
"NDMC has teamed with Toppr to empower underserved students by offering access to top-quality digital education," stated RP Sati, Director (Education), NDMC.
"With the assistance of Toppr Asha, NDMC hopes to support kids from low-income families studying at NDMC Schools through this association," added the director.
"Over 2000 NDMC/Navyug students are enrolled in Toppr to boost their academic performance." "This reaffirms NDMC's commitment to making school education more inclusive and accessible to all through the use of information technology," stated the director.
"Using the latest technology and pedagogy, Toppr will provide support to students for board examinations and competitive test preparation," the director added.
"The Covid-19 pandemic had exacerbated the gap between students from rich and underprivileged households," stated Zishaan Hayath, CEO of Toppr, of the programme.
Benefits to be offered to students through Asha
Toppr Asha will assist students attain academic excellence through its Learn, Practice, and Ask modules, which are developed for every major board exam in India.
Students can achieve their dreams of becoming doctors, engineers, or CA by using carefully designed modules for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Test (NEET), and Chartered Accountant (CA).
On Toppr's adaptive practise platform, the recipients will have access to videos lectures and other curriculum content. They will also have access to the 'Create Your Own Tests' feature.
When schools were closed due to the epidemic in 2020, Asha was founded. Toppr reaches out to 5000 underprivileged children through the programme.
These students had year-long access to learning material and attended video lectures via the learning app for a variety of courses such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, history, social science, business studies, economics, and so on.
