Suspension of admission for Ahmadi student by BZU is considered a form of persecution: LHC
The Lahore High Court (LHC) has overturned Bahauddin Zakariya University's (BZU) order to suspend an Ahmadi student's entrance, calling it "persecution."
In September, Umer Taimur Tahir, an Ahmadi student, was admitted to the university's Pharm-D programme on a minority quota. His entry, however, was revoked without warning or explanation.
The university further claimed that the case was being tried in the LHC, which the court dismissed as "gratuitous, unjustified, and false."

The student had petitioned the high court to overturn the university's decision to halt his relocation. In his plea, he said that the institution viewed him like a "thing, not a human being."
The student's punishment, according to Justice Muhammad Shan Gul, "amounts to punishing the already victimised!" This, he added, was a "conscious disrespect for minority rights."
