Islamabad's school timings to be changed by the federal government
The federal government has announced to change the working hours of schools in Islamabad in view of the severe heatwave. Earlier, at the Inter-Provincial Ministers' Conference, it was decided to reopen educational institutions so that educational activities could be resumed.
On the direction of Federal Minister for Education and Vocational Training Shafqat Mahmood, educational institutions have been reopened and students are taking physical classes. However, students are instructed to ensure the implementation of SOPs while attending classes and to wear masks and maintain social distance.

Changes in school routines:
According to the announcement of the federal government, educational institutions will be open from 7 am to 11 pm from Monday to Thursday. Schools operating in two shifts can hold classes on Fridays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. It has been stated that schools can operate with 50% capacity as per the said schedule. Earlier, it was announced that students would be required to attend classes from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The decision to change school hours was made after classes resumed for students in grades 1 to 8.

Decision of Federal Government:
The federal government has announced to promote first to fifth and sixth to seventh-grade students without examinations. Examinations could not begin due to the ongoing corona virus. Relevant authorities will conduct only fifth and eighth class examinations. Students will be promoted based on their performance in last year's exams. It was informed that last year the students were promoted after participating in the annual examinations and according to the results released more than 90% of the students had passed the examinations.
