EdTech startup U-Planner recognized by UNESCO for enhanced education through AI
Chilean edtech startup U-Planner uses artificial intelligence, big data, and algorithms to help institutions plan better, create new study programs, manage education more effectively, and prevent educational desertion.
"We concentrate on assisting colleges and educational institutions in maximizing their resources. If they can save money on potential expenses, they may put it towards the students," said Juan Pablo Mena, CEO of U-Planner.
U-Planner was honored by UNESCO's International Center for Research in Artificial Intelligence (IRCAI) for its contributions to education in Latin America. The IRCAI chose 100 initiatives from around the world that apply artificial intelligence to tackle problems, and four of them, including u-Planner, were Latin in origin.
Microsoft has regarded U-Planner as the enterprise with the largest global social effect, and it has just formed an association with the Laspau organization affiliated with Harvard University.
"These honors, such as Microsoft's first and now UNESCO's IRCAI, motivate us to keep moving forward with the conviction that the changes and positive impact we are generating in these institutions that have trusted us and their students will be scaled to other parts of the world and to many more young people," said Mena.
