EdTech startup Invact Metaversity raises $33 Million funding

Invact Metaversity is a 3D interactive virtual learning platform that is creating greater and virtually interactive learning experiences for everyone, provided to them wherever they are and at an affordable price. It was founded by Manish Maheshwari, the former Twitter head of India, and Tanay Pratap, former Microsoft executive. The platform makes the communication between students and teachers effective via animated characters regardless of their actual location.

Invact Metaversity has raised funds of $33 Million from more than 70 global business leaders and unicorn founders. Kishore Biyani (Future Group), T.V. Mohandas Pai (Manipal Global Education), Kirthiga Reddy (former Facebook India chief), and Dr. Ritesh Malik all took part in the funding round along with few others.

Manish Maheshwari said, "The COVID-19 pandemic has forced people to visit institutions and offices from the comfort of their own homes. Existing tools, such as Zoom, also provided a limited and scripted experience. The social aspect was missing. With gear becoming more affordable and the network growing more widespread, the world is preparing for a more immersive experience and the metaverse. Education is primed for change because it is one of the most underserved sectors."
