Australia Welcomes Pakistani Students Back after the Pandemic

In order to allow thousands of Pakistani students to finish their term at Australian universities, the Australian government has promised to make it easier for them to return to Australia and complete their studies.

During the global pandemic, which was followed by a lockdown in Australia, approximately 6,000 Pakistani students had no other alternative but to return home. However, due to various visa complications, they have been unable to travel back to Australia and resume their education.

The breakthrough occurred during a recent discussion between Richard Marles, the Deputy Prime Minister of Australia, and Hina Rabbani Khar, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.The gathering took place in conjunction with the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, which took place in Kigali, Rwanda, from June 20 through June 25.

The initial group of Pakistani students who had returned home because of the covid-19 pandemic travelled for China earlier this week to start, and or resume, their studies there.

Around 100 students were on a special Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight that departed for Xi'an, the capital of central China's Shaanxi Province, from the New Islamabad International Airport.
