The Center for Energy Systems (CES) was launched in June, 2011 to provide impetus to energy sector programs and support and consolidate related activities/ projects with a view to contributing to the national economy in times of energy crisis. The main objective of the center is provision of sustainable supply of energy at affordable rates with a greater share of renewable in the energy mix to reduce environmental footprint.
Center is currently known as USPCAS-E (US-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Energy). It is well equipped with state of art graduate research labs in areas namely Energy Storage and Conversion, Fossil Fuels, Thermal Energy, Biofuels, Advanced Energy Materials, Solar Energy, Smart Grids & Electrical Power Systems and High Performance Modeling/Simulation open to researchers from different backgrounds.
