IRM's mission is to eradicate poverty, reduce inequality and improve the quality of life of the rural communities by empowering them to harness their true human, social and economic potential.

The institute aims at unlocking the true potential of the rural masses through a variety of program and also focuses on building a strong team of development professionals, not only within the RSPs but across the country and region including government staff, elected members of the local bodies, civil society and corporate sector to ensure that they have clear understanding of development objectives and methodologies. To reach the ultimate goal of poverty reduction IRM aims to enhance human productivity.
