Strict Admission criteria creates difficulty for students
A huge number of students who completed their intermediate exams have been denied access to higher education as a result of recent changes in admission standards imposed by higher education institutions, which limit eligibility to a minimum of 45 percent points.

This indicates that the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) and colleges and universities are not on the same page, since the board proclaims pupils who receive 33 percent of the marks pass, but their applications to higher educational institutions are rejected.
Previously, reports stated that students with grades ranging from 33 to 44 percent sought private Bachelor's degrees from a variety of colleges, primarily the University of Punjab. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) scrapped the standard BA/MA a few years ago, thus closing the doors to education for a vast number of students.
All passed students could not be accommodated owing to a lack of spaces, according to Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood. However, he stated that if seats were available at any college, they should not be empty because the student did not receive a 45 percent grade.

The subject of removing the BA/MA was also discussed during a three-day conference of vice chancellors that ended on Sunday, with the majority of the VCs arguing that while they support the HEC's four-year BS programme, private BA/MA should be reinstated to give students a chance.
Due of the Covid-19 outbreak this year, the government issued orders to boards instructing them to provide grace marks to students who were about to be labelled failures. However, these children will not be favoured because no institution or college in Islamabad would admit individuals who receive less than a 45 percent grade.se the student did not receive a 45 percent grade.
