Private and public universities to remain close till July 31
The home department of Sindh Government issued a notification on Saturday declaring that all public and private universities in the province shall remain close till July 31 in order to curb the spread of coronavirus.
Last week, the provincial government had announced tightening of restrictions after the positivity ratio in the province crossed 10%

The decision was taken in a meeting of the Provincial Coronavirus Task Force presided by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
Stand-alone grocery stores, milk shops, bakeries, fruit/vegetable vendors, and pharmacies, were declared exempted from restrictions, stated the notification.
A review meeting will be held to evaluate the situation after a week.
The provincial health secretary had updated the meeting that the positivity ratio of the province has mounted to 10.3%, while the situation in Karachi is getting worse, with a positivity ratio of 21.58%.

CM Shah agreed that the coronavirus condition in the province was certainly worrying and advised of it deteriorating after Eid, where large gatherings are expected.
Health Secretary Kazim Jatoi told the participants that 85% of the patients admitted to Sindh’s hospitals were not vaccinated.
