NUST is collecting donations for earthquake victims
The National University of Science and Technology (NUST), in Pakistan, have organized donations and aid for victims affected by the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

According to NUST, they are collecting items as well, such as overcoats, raincoats, boots, trousers, sweaters, gloves, beanies, scarves, socks, undergarments, tents, mattresses, blankets and sleeping bags.
Additionally, apart from clothing and basic necessities, NUST students are also collecting gas catalytic stove heaters, thermos bottles, gas cylinders, flash lights, power banks, food boxes and canned food, baby formula, generators, baby formula, women’s hygiene products, general hygiene products and diapers.
The natural disaster occurred in parts of Turkey and Syria on Monday, 6th February, 2023, with catastrophic after-shocks as well on top of the 7.5 level magnitude, areas affected included Cyprus, Türkiye, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Georgia, and Armenia.
According to AlJazeera, Turkish officials have reported 12,873 deaths, while Syrian officials have reported 3,162 deaths.
Pairing up with the Government of Pakistan, NUST Islamabad has initiated aid campaigns to provide assistance and humanitarian relief to those affected.
Business Recorder reports that NUST has prepared relief aid worth Rs. 4 million for earthquake victims in Turkiye. Donation camps have been established outside Gates 1 and 2, and at Concordia 1, NUST Campus, Islamabad.
Additionally, various digital media platforms are being used to disseminate messages appealing to citizens to contribute.
Apart from NUST, other organizations donating for Turkey and Syria include Human Appeal, Doctors without Borders, Al Khidmat, Oxfam, and many more.
