Karachi Inter Board has announced special exams for students who are underperforming

Special examinations have been issued by the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) to allow students to enhance their grades in order to be eligible to apply for university admissions.

Dr. Saeed Uddin, the Chairman of BIEK, announced the decision on Wednesday, saying that the special exams will benefit students in the Pre-Engineering group who received D or E grades in this year's Intermediate exams.

He also stated that the unique examination schedule would be released soon.

Candidates who got less than 45 percent on intermediate exams are not allowed to enroll in any university, according to the Higher Education Commission's (HEC) policy.

The special examination, according to Dr. Saeed Uddin, will be a good opportunity for students who wish to better their grades in order to continue further education, and applicants will be able to apply to colleges next year after boosting their percentages.

In November, he revealed that nearly 10,000 students received Ds and Es in the Pre-Engineering Part—II examinations. 6,605 of them received Ds, while 3,450 received Es.

Overall, 24,170 people took the Intermediate Part—II exams, with 22,119 (91.51%) of them passing. A total of 3,080 pupils received A-1s, 2,123 received As, 2,852 received Bs, and 4,036 received Cs.
