Islamia College's transfer update
A new drop-scene reveals the transfer of Government Islamia College for Science, Commerce and Arts (Morning, Evening).
As a result of making concessions before the concerned party, the Department of College Education Sindh has decided to move all educational institutions from the Islamia College Complex to two separate and distant areas.
Muhammad Ali Manji, Director General of Colleges Sindh, has approved the proposal to move the college.
As outlined in the summary, the Government Islamia Science College and Government Islamia Arts and Commerce College (Evening) should be relocated to a newly established Government Degree College near New Karachi, but the college area is referred to as Nazimabad in the summary.
Similarly, the Government Islamia Arts and Commerce College (Morning) would be moved to the already existing Government Physical Education College in Sachalgoth. University Road is written in the summary instead of this college, and a very low enrollment is mentioned for the physical education college.
Located near Mazar-e-Quaid, the Islamia College Complex is a busy area of the city where students from the old settlements take admission, except at Adamji Science College and PECHS Foundation College, who come from middle-class and lower-middle income families.
Jowar does not have any other colleges. A total of 12,000 students attend the Islamia College Complex, which includes T-Colleges and government schools, and graduation classes are also held here.
The Director of Colleges Sindh also attended a meeting regarding the transfer of the college on December 14. As stated in the summary sent to the Secretary of Colleges regarding the transfer of colleges. Professor Ali Raz, the principal of Islamia Science College, and the Assistant Director of Colleges, Rashid Khoso, attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the court orders were reviewed, and the principal of Islamia Science College was asked to direct the department to vacate or maintain the college building.
Both colleges' principals requested that if the colleges were to be vacated due to court orders, furniture and students be moved to other buildings as well. After a phone conversation with a third principal of the college, Professor Rafiq Lakho, a consensus was reached regarding the transfer of Islamia College.
It is expected that the notification regarding the transfer of the college will be released soon
Furthermore, the Director General of Colleges Sindh told Express News that due to the clear order of the court, we have to make some other arrangements for the students.
