Hiring Criteria eased for teachers by Baluchistan Government

As a one-time measure to solve the teacher shortage, the Baluchistan government has simplified the hiring process for teachers.

Abdul Rauf Baloch, the Secretary of Secondary Education, revealed this at the 22nd Local Education Group meeting on Wednesday.

To close the gap, he announced that 33 primary schools will be upgraded to middle schools and 66 middle schools will be upgraded to high schools this fiscal year.

In addition, for the fiscal year 2021-22, a plan to upgrade 200 primary schools to middle schools has been approved.

"As education is the top priority of the current administration, the education department is committed to implementing the Baluchistan Education Sector Plan 2020-25," he added.

All stakeholders, department officials, development partners, and other officials were present at the meeting. Baloch estimates that roughly one million youngsters are enrolled in public schools in the province.

He stated that the provincial administration values the efforts of all major stakeholders and development partners who are committed to advancing the province's education sector.

The provincial government has reduced recruiting restrictions in order to hire more teachers, according to the Secretary of Education, and competency training will begin once the recruitment process is done.

He went on to say that this programme will aid in the reactivation of dormant schools across the province.
