Higher Education Aptitude Test
Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT) registration schedule is announced by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). The HAT is administered by the Education Testing Council (ETC) for the award of all HEC scholarships and for admission to MS/M Phil programs.
The deadline for registering for HAT is September 12th, 2022. The test is tentatively scheduled for September 25th, 2022. Applicants who have already applied for MS/MPhil admission or HEC scholarships or who intend to apply for HEC-sponsored scholarships or admission to MS/MPhil programs at any HEC recognized university can register to receive any changes in test dates. Any change in test dates will be communicated through www.hec.gov.pk and http://etc.hec.gov.pk.
Who can apply for the Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT)?
For those who have already applied online for any MS/MPhil admission OR HEC scholarships via e-portal for the final selection process.
Those who intend to apply for the scholarship schemes advertised in the future, including those sponsored by HEC-sponsored Pakistani universities

Two steps are involved in the submission of an application, namely: profile completion using the "My Profile" section and application submission uses the "Higher Education Aptitude Test" links on the menu panel on the left-hand sidebar of the online portal.
We will not consider applications in SAVE or INCOMPLETE mode for the test.
For HAT, the test fee is PKR 1500/-. A fee amount of 1742 7900 1334 01 will be deposited in the account of Habib Bank Limited. Title of Account: Higher Education Commission
Download bank Fee Challan while registering for the test at http://etc.hec.gov.pk. (Fee challan is only available on the ETC online registration portal).
All candidates are required to upload the submitted Fee challan, duly stamped by an HBL branch while completing the application form of the ETC online registration portal to submit the application.
Candidates must bring the original applicant copy of the deposit slip on the test day, along with their original CNIC/original passport, or they will be unable to take the test.
There is no refund or transfer of the test fee.
