Girls' College to be Built in Rawalpindi

The Government Girls Associate College Dhok Dalal, which can accommodate 1000 students, will be the first girls' college in garrison city to have modern facilities, including state-of-the-art elevators that students and faculty members will use to get to their classrooms throughout the four-story building.

In order to complete the new under-construction college immediately, Rs350 million has been released, while Rs400 million will be released in the third week of October for the start of the new Waqarun-Nisa Women University, after which it will be operational as well.

Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Punjab's chief minister, will officially inaugurate the college in the last week of November, which is being built on five kanals at Dhok Dalal Chowk. Additionally, the girls' college will have a state-of-the-art science laboratory and an online library connected to universities and libraries around the world.

Moreover, the college will build a computer lab with 70 to 100 modern computers. The students will also be able to participate in all indoor games.

So far, three floors of this college have been completed, and the roof will be laid by the end of this week on the fourth.

On Thursday, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed visited the college building to inspect the construction work. In 45 days, the contractor will complete the college's construction. Next week, finishing, plumbing, woodwork, grilling, electrical work, and the installation of a lift will also begin simultaneously on the ground floor.

Furniture, science lab equipment, and computer lab machinery will be purchased and installed by the middle of November, and the renovations will be completed by November 25th.

A notification has been issued for Waqarun-Nisa Women University, according to the former federal minister. “When the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz came to power in Punjab for two to three months, its funds were withheld,” Rashid claimed, adding that funds would be released by the end of this month so that preparations could begin for the opening of the new university.
