92,000 Scholarships offered by the Govt under the Ehsaas Scholarship Program

In November 2019, Prime Minister Imran Khan launched the Ehsaas Scholarship Program, which offers need-based scholarships to eligible students across the country. It is Pakistan's largest need-based scholarship project, with the goal of providing scholarships to 50,000 students each year. This program has a budget of Rs. 24 billion set aside by the federal government. A 50% quota has been set aside for female students, with 2% set aside for pupils with special needs.

On Thursday, Farrukh Habib, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, announced that the government has awarded over 92,000 scholarships under the Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship Program. The minister stated on twitter that the government provides merit-based scholarships to low-income male and female students who choose to pursue higher education at universities.

He also stated that the application review procedure for pending applications would be finished by June of this year. Scholarships for a four- to five-year degree program will be awarded to the selected candidates.
