Universities in Islamabad move to online teaching amidst political instability

In light of the country's escalating political temperature, Bahria University Islamabad has declared that online classes will be held till Friday, May 27.

"All classes have been changed from on campus to online from today (25 May) till Friday due to the current law and order crisis," the university administration said in a statement.

"All FMs can take classes from home or at the Bahria University Islamabad campus," it stated, adding that the classes must be held on Microsoft Teams according to the schedule.

In addition, due to the political instability in the federal capital, the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) and Air University have announced that they will also hold online sessions on May 25 and 26 in order to avoid any inconvenience.

The NUST administration said in a statement that lessons at its H-8 Campus in Islamabad will be held online on Wednesday, May 25.

"On the 26th of May, the situation will be reviewed, and new instructions will be conveyed on QALAM and NUST social media platforms," it read.

The email also stated that because there will be no transportation available on Wednesday, off-campus academics and staff can work from home.

Similarly, Air University has told its students that on May 25 and 26, all graduate and undergraduate classes will be held online.

"FMC will have online classes on May 25-26, and the MBBS supplementary examination scheduled for May 26 has been postponed," the statement read.

On the indicated dates, all directorates and administrative divisions will operate from home and conduct planned meetings via Zoom, according to the management.
