UNICEF Offers Cooperation To Restart Education in Flood-Affected Areas
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's flood-affected areas received help from a UNICEF delegation on Tuesday.
At the office of KP Minister of Elementary and Secondary Education (E&SE) Shahram Khan Tarakai, the delegation was led by Country Representative Mr Abdullah A Fadil.
He commended UNICEF for supporting elementary and secondary education in difficult times.
According to Shahram, UNICEF and E&SE have the most credible and productive partnership.
In terms of a quality education delivery system, the flagship project on Alternative Learning Programmes (ALPs) has been a landmark success.
He said the provincial government was replicating and scaling up the education model, and the department was upgrading its technical support.
UNICEF's role as GPE's grant agent was appreciated by him, and its reliability was noted by the government.
After thanking the minister, Fadil pledged to help start educational activities in the flood-affected areas, saying UNICEF had requested help in dealing with this crisis.
